About
Alex Ju, also known as Alex Hao, is an interdisciplinary artist based in San Francisco. Her research-based practice draws from two areas of obsession: computer history, with its constant spillover into contemporary technology productization; and ornament, with its endless gendered and cultural connotations. Through her work, she explores how our relationship with technology is intimate yet invisible, and consequently difficult to question.
Currently, Alex is a Senior Product Line Manager for cloud transceiver modules. She has also worked in 3D sensing components for consumer, automotive, and emerging applications; in design for additive manufacturing with an emphasis on automotive; and in human computer interaction research.
She received her BFA with Honors in Jewelry and Metalsmithing from the Rhode Island School of Design, where she spent 6 months in Rome as part of RISD's European Honors Program. She completed her MBA at New York University's Stern School of Business as a Forte Fellow and recipient of the W.R. Berkley Professor of Economics and Finance and Dean Emeritus Peter Henry Faculty Scholarship.
